and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all [his children].… Thus Job did regularly” (Job 1:5). It is obvious from this text that Job was deeply concerned about the welfare of his family before the Lord. And there is no reason to think that he did not pray for other family members besides his children. The life-changing thing about praying for our families is that, as we do, it will radically change our attitudes toward them. We are all tempted to pray for change in our family members;
